Senator Tim Johnson has scheduled a news conference tomorrow afternoon at his alma mater - the University of South Dakota.
Many sources - including ABC News report that 66-year-old Johnson will announce his retirement...
According to websites like Politico, Democrats have been expecting for months that Johnson will retire.
The South Dakota GOP is looking to shift the balance of power, back to a fully Republican congressional contingent. But former Johnson rival and Senate colleague John Thune says whether to run again is a tough decision every politician has to make. "Tim has had a long distinguished career in South Dakota politics starting with the state legislature so tomorrow we'll know whether he wants to serve again or not...but either way I wish him well...and I will anxiously wait with other South Dakotans to see what he has to say tomorrow."
We will carry Johnson's announcement live on KSFY tomorrow afternoon at 3:00.
