Explain why definition as stated is incorrect New page Axial precession is not the only kind. For example Earth also has orbital precession. Precession of the equinoxes is actually a combination of axial precession and orbital precession, and all 3 have different periods. Earth also experiences precession of the ecliptic, a fourth kind.
